Islam is a religion founded on the belief in Tawhid (the oneness of God). Believing in the absolute unity of Allah, associating no partners with Him, and worshipping Him alone are the fundamental principles of Islam. Muslims express this belief through the declaration: "Lā ilāha illallāh, Muhammadun Rasūlullāh" (There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger).
- The five fundamental acts of worship and belief in Islam that form the foundation of a Muslim's faith and practices:
- -Shahada (Declaration of Faith): Declaring that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His messenger.
- Salah (Prayer): Performing the five daily prayers at prescribed times.
- -Sawm (Fasting): Observing fasting during the month of Ramadan, abstaining from food, drink, and sinful behavior from dawn until sunset.
- -Hajj (Pilgrimage): Undertaking a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime, if physically and financially able.
- -Zakat (Charity): Giving a portion of one’s wealth to those in need as a form of purification and support.

Islam celebrates two main festivals
Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast)
Celebrated at the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. Marks gratitude to Allah for strength during fasting. Includes special prayers (Salat al-Eid), giving charity (Zakat al-Fitr), and sharing meals with family and friends.
Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice)
Commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son for Allah. Celebrated during the Hajj pilgrimage season. Includes animal sacrifice, sharing meat with the poor, and communal prayers. Both festivals emphasize gratitude, charity, and strengthening community bonds.
